PTE was commissioned by Thurrock Council to design a housing scheme for over-55’s on a vacant site in Tilbury, Essex.

The proposal provides 35 new flats for local older people as well as providing shared courtyard and wild gardens and new community rooms for the residents and wider community.

The scheme engages with the existing high-street to provide active frontages and overlooking while responding to the sites location within the flood plain. A new public square provides a new focal point along the route from the town centre to the train station.

A symbol of Council investment in Tilbury, the project has been positively received by local residents. PTE provided a full service from concept to delivery.
